Hello and welcome!

I’m Carmen, and I’m here to help you on your writer/author/publishing journey. After many years writing and indie publishing, plus working in marketing, communications, and graphic design, I’m gathering up all my expertise to support others as a book coach.

Book coaching can mean different things to different people. My focus is on taking a strategic approach that considers your goals, your resources, and the reader experience you are seeking to fulfill. For some, that’s a specific focus on bringing a story idea to fruition, regardless of the format. For others, it’s a broader look at building your author business in a sustainable way.

My background includes studying Fiction Editing and Children’s Book Editing through Simon Fraser University’s Publishing program, completion of Coaching for Leadership through Langara College, various certifications, plus a bachelor of commerce degree, with a marketing major.

I’ve worked with authors on book design, manuscript evaluations, and strategies to save time and make smart business decisions, particularly for those interested in indie-publishing or self-publishing.

I’m the author of the children’s chapter books Spy Skills for Girls and the Tri-City Mysteries, which I’ve indie published under my imprint Bright Green Books. I’ve written in various formats including comics, screenplays, and interactive games.
